How we review every image before it goes live (and when you get a refund)
A public wall is only worth reading if what is on it is safe to look at. So every block on ClaimPixels goes through the same path before it appears, and a person makes the final call. This is that path, including the parts a computer cannot do.
The path an order takes
- Reserve the spotYou pick an area on the wall and we hold it for 15 minutes while you fill in the details.
- An automatic check of the text and linkBefore you pay, we look at the title, the description and the link address for things the Terms clearly prohibit. A clear match stops here, so nobody pays for something we would reject.
- Payment by cardPayments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- A person reviews itA person looks at the image, title, description and link. We aim to do this within 24 hours; that is a target, not a guarantee.
- Live, or refundedAn approved block goes live with its own page. A rejected block is refunded in full.
What the computer checks and what a person checks
| What | Automatic check | Human review |
|---|---|---|
| Title and description | Yes: clear matches with prohibited categories are stopped before payment | Yes |
| Link address | Yes: adult and gambling address endings and names are refused, and so are shorteners, IP addresses and custom ports | Yes: the link is part of what the reviewer approves |
| The image | No: the automatic check cannot see it | Yes: every image is looked at by a person |
| Anything subtle or new | No | Yes: a person decides |
The automatic check also sees through the usual tricks, such as spaces between letters or digits standing in for letters, while leaving ordinary words alone.
What gets rejected
The list is in section 8 of the Terms. In short, we reject content that:
- is pornographic or sexually explicit, or exploits or endangers minors;
- promotes hate, harassment, threats, violence or self-harm;
- offers illegal goods or services, or unlawful gambling;
- is a scam: phishing, impersonation, fake giveaways, pyramid schemes, guaranteed returns, or unlicensed investment offers;
- contains or leads to malware or deceptive redirects;
- makes false health or income claims;
- infringes someone's rights or publishes private information;
- pretends to come from ClaimPixels or from another person or organisation.
When you are refunded in full
These are the cases in the Refund Policy that end in a full refund:
- We reject your submission before the block goes live.
- You cancel before the block is approved.
- Your 15-minute hold ran out and someone else took the area before your payment completed.
- We remove a live block for a reason that is not your fault.
- You were charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or the block could not be shown as ordered.
A block that was approved as submitted is not refunded if you simply change your mind, and a block removed because it breaks the Terms is not refunded either.
What we cannot promise
No filter and no reviewer is perfect. If you see something on the wall that should not be there, tell us on the report page and we will look at it.
