Affordable ways to showcase your startup

You do not need an ad budget to get a new project in front of people. You need a clear one-line description and a few places that suit it.
Write one clear sentence
Say what it is, who it is for, and what it does better or differently. Use that sentence everywhere. If you cannot explain it in a sentence, a bigger audience will not help yet.
Show it where makers look
- Launch communities and directories for new products, such as Product Hunt.
- Show HN posts on Hacker News, where you describe what you built and answer questions honestly.
- Communities of builders, such as Indie Hackers and relevant subreddits. Read each community's rules before you post.
Build in public
Short, honest updates about what you build and learn attract people more reliably than announcements. They cost time, not money.
Give people something useful
A guide, a free tool, an open-source piece of your project. Useful things get shared, and they link back to you.
Where a pixel wall fits
A block on a pixel wall is a cheap, permanent, visible mark and a link. It will not replace the work above, and it should not be your only effort. Treat it as one more place your project lives. On ClaimPixels, the early blocks cost the least.
Measure what you can
Add a tracking parameter to the links you share so you can see which place sends visitors. Judge each place by what it brings, not by how it feels.
